Hello;

Would you send me the domain(s) (offlist) so I can take a look at this
situation?

Subject: [domains-gen] Unresponsive reseller, unresponsive Opensrs!

Condensed version

Reseller Inexpensivedomains cannot be contacted by mail, phone etc. -but
does take payment.
Opensrs does not respond with assistance or acknowledge correspondence for
requested assistance.
Assistance request appears to be futile!

Details...

Recently we were retained by a new client to update and manage their web
site and domain. Checking whois for the domain we find the Opensrs reseller
for the domain is Inexpensivedomains.com and that the domain is a few days
from renewal, Inexpensivedomains also is hosting the domain. The domain
originally was registered by a inexperienced web person, who supplied the
client with all login/passwords given to them initially by
Inexpensivedomains.com to allow access to their site information. Since we
have 90+ domains with Godaddy ourselves, we decide rather than renew the
domain with this reseller we would instead do a simple transfer request. The
transfer request was denied by all three EPP locks.

No problem, we'll try accessing the domain registry interface with supplied
login/passwords and remove locks, we do have access to FTP and the Plesk
server interface, but nothing to access the domain name interface at
Inexpensivedomains.com Without a valid login, the forgotten password option
is not available to us.

We try E-mailing support at Inexpensivedomains.com -no response. So next up
is a telephone call to support, after two days of dialing and within hours
of the domain registration lapsing, we finally get a human on the phone at
Inexpensivedomains.com. We'll call him John, we explain our situation, the
domain needs to be renewed, and that we will not be needing the year in
advance hosting, they have billed the client for.

John explains he doesn't think we can renew just the domain since the
original web person had gotten the hosting and domain package together
initially. He'll have to check into the situation and call us back. OK, not
a problem, we'll wait for his call, this is early Friday afternoon April 21,
2006. The whole afternoon goes by, no return call... At 5 PM our time, we
decide we better follow up with them, and try to get someone -anyone on the
phone at Inexpensivedomains.com again no answer...

Saturday morning we again start calling -checking the web site -the domain
has been disabled and is now pointing to their hosting sales page. Frantic
phone calls, messages to no avail... We're in it now for sure... Time to
renew the domain and worry about who's hosting it later. Accessing the web
interface for the hosting portion of the service -it's DOA... Hmmm, server
must be down, we'll just wait a few hours...

Sunday -still no hosting management access, server still appears down...

Monday AM -it lives! We login, gain access to the two outstanding invoices
shown, one for the domain renewal, one for the years hosting. Whip out the
credit card, pay the domain invoice for domain registration... Updating the
page still shows "you owe the provider money", domain still pointing to
hosting sales page. Reluctantly whip out the credit card again, pay the
hosting invoice, still shows "you owe the provider money" but also does now
show credit card number listed in payment portion of the interface. Submit
trouble ticket inside interface, asking for the domain to be re-enabled
asap...

Registrants e-mail address on the domain within a few hours gets message
from tech support from Inexpensivedomains saying account has been restored,
support ticket closed.

Hmmm, have client respond from their admin address, writing support with
request for login/password to be sent to allow access to domain portion of
interface. No response.

Again access domain interface in order to initiate trouble ticket (worked
once, why not), repeat request for login/pass. Two days pass, no response...

Try turning to Opensrs for help, using the standard information form on
their site, we give brief explanation of problem, request advice or
assistance... Nothing -no sign of any communication with Opensrs. Spend
three more days attempting to e-mail, telephone Inexpensivedomains -then try
telephoning Opensrs for help -complete dead end there...

Read FAQ's at Opensrs, google Inexpensivedomains, google Opensrs compliance
department. Use [EMAIL PROTECTED] address to try again to gain Opensrs
assistance... Now it has been two weeks trying to do a simple transfer with
no results. Nothing nadda -not even a message acknowledging messages from
Opensrs...

It's Friday again, hopefully someone on this list can offer advice on where
to go from here!?

We appear to have exhausted all options -unresponsive Intexpensivedomains
and apparently unresponsive Opensrs Compliance department!

Advice -suggestions -help needed!
