So what? There's already a model for it (.tv) and if the registry can get significantly more money for just a few dozen domains, there's a huge financial incentive to roll it out. I hope he's wrong too, but considering the contract isn't final yet, why not update it to clearly specify pricing (or at least cap increases and permit decreases) and eliminate the auto renewal? Is ICANN so afraid to bite the hand that feeds it that it won't stand up for domain owners?
