You should be able to copy lock/unlock code out of the old perl CGI client
software.

The perl code uses an XML interface. As long as that remains active, the
perl code should work. BareMetal is in the same boat as you. The perl code
fits.

It would be good to have some official assurance that this isn't going to
stop working on us.
