Hi all,

We ordered a .ch domain for someone and unusually for us were put in the
position where we had to use our own domain email.

I was quite surprised to receive an email shortly:

To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: The domain name transparentvalue.ch has been transferred to SWITCH

The domain name transparentvalue.ch has been transferred to SWITCH
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Dear Mr XXXXX

On 11.12.2006 the domain name example.ch was transferred to SWITCH.

Request number: xxxxxxxx

Domain name: example.ch

Subscription period terminates: 31.10.2007

What implications does this transfer have for you? You are now a direct
customer of SWITCH. As of now, you should make any changes required to your
contact data directly on our website at http://www.switch.ch/reg/ To do
this, you will always require your User ID and your password. You will be
receiving the latter via the info channel for confidential information. In
future, you will also receive the annual invoice for the renewal of your
subscription directly from SWITCH.

-----

And a copy of the password/username to login to http://www.switch.ch/reg
came shortly after.

You can login here and renew your domain direct on their site and the email
indicates they will be renewal invoices sent to me directly now - they were
right, I was very much now a 'direct customer of SWITCH' - blimey!

Now this wasn't bought through Tucows - so is this the case for all .ch
domains or just ones from this other provider? If this is universal SWITCH
policy, it certainly tempts you to use a company address for all .ch
applications to stop them poaching your clients!

Best Regards,
