My understanding so far is that the upgrade is scheduled to start on the evening of the 9th (UK Localtime). Or at least the services of interest to most folk here will be disabled for all UK domains controlled by Nominet. I assume this is the same for Tucows?
Or have you guys got 04:00 UTC as a specific time from Nominet? I vaguely recall some bulk update services being disabled before this (I assume to allow time to process all queued bulk transactions before the upgrade takes place). http://www.nominet.org.uk/registrars/systems/online/systemupgrade/#downtime Basically you don't want to be doing any UK domain stuff that weekend, and as little as possible immediately before and after. We deal with Nominet directly for our UK domain names (for mostly historical reasons, like we wrote those scripts before we started using TUCOWS). I've already updated our scripts as they are mandating an extra email field. They aren't offering us a test system to test our changes against, as they claim it is all backwardly compatible.
