Paul: I found myself even *more* amused and snickering at:

http://www.zygoat.ca/news.php

"May 2002: We have finally acquired the zygoat.com domain name; for now
it simply redirects web requests and mail to the canonical zygoat.ca."

Emphasis on the word "finally". That should be all the evidence one
needs that "zygoat.com" was desirable and that all domain names are not
created equally.

Some folks are willing to pay a premium now, to *guarantee* immediate
acquisition of a domain name they covet. Some domain names will almost
certainly never expire (check the expiration date of my Leap.com, for
example).
