JB and friends,

I have replied to all the posts regarding Tucows' Parked Pages Program and its
implementation.

The other posts, be they negative or positive, seem to me to be debating the
overall *concept* of domain parking, a business tactic that Tucows (and many
other companies) embraced some time ago but did not invent. Along with 'Mac vs.
PC' and 'Superman vs. Spiderman', that's a debate that has gone on for a while
and certainly long before Tucows switched to a new ad provider this week. It is
also a debate that will never be resolved on this discussion list alone.

Since we have offered this service for about 19 months, I think it is pretty
obvious that Tucows believes domain parking is a legitimate and valuable
service of benefit to both our resellers and their customers. The feedback I've
gotten (off-list) from resellers has been very positive.

Some folks on this list apparently disagree. :+)

That is, of course, their right, and I have made note of this valuable feedback
and will take it into account as we continue to evolve our Parked Pages Program.

Thanks.

Bill Sweetman

Bill,
While I'm glad you're trying to participate here, all I've really noticed
so far has been that you're replying only to the people who seem to like
the idea of typo-squatter homepages, and not to the (at least more
vocal, and perhaps actual majority of) ones who don't.

Perhaps tucows has decided to not engage these people? Honestly, you
need to at least state that.

Maybe you're working on a reply? You need to say that, too.

Really. It looks bad.

I'm one of your smaller resellers, but I've been one (via various
employers and on my own) for something like 6-7 years now and have been
a vocal proponent of what you once were. I'm really about ready to
leave. I know I'm not alone.

Talk to US, please.

JB
