Here's a summary of what appears in the WHOIS for expired domain names:
== Day 0 (first day of expiry) to Day -40 ("Grace Period")
Original Registrant's information OR Contact Privacy, whichever was
displayed PRIOR to domain expiring. Reseller can always enable/disable
Contact Privacy at any time during this period via RWI.
== Day -40 to Day -70 ("Redemption Period")
If domain is deleted, no WHOIS information is displayed as per registry
rules.
If domain is renewed by Tucows for moving into Tucows Domain Portfolio,
Contact Privacy is enabled.
== Day -70 and later
If domain is deleted, WHOIS information of new owner (if domain is purchased
by third party after dropping) is displayed.
If domain has been moved into Tucows Domain Portfolio, Contact Privacy is
enabled.

I have no major problems with it. However, I would hope that the WHOIS on
the expired domain names, if they're being parked, change to a Tucows
holding account of some sort, e.g. "Expired Domains Department, Tucows" to
avoid any legal issues (e.g. suppose there was some inappropriate content
served up by the expired page landers, the legal risk should be with Tucows
and not the original registrant).
Sincerely,
