We've had a customer try to register some .asia domains that were
showing as available on the WHOIS lookup, but OpenSRS rejected the
registrations with a "Domain taken" message.

Looking at the domains the customer was trying to register (e.g.
"online-casino.asia") I suspect the domains are either reserved or have
pending sunrise applications. However there's nothing on the WHOIS to
indicate this - they show up as "not found" just like domains that are
available.

We use the OpenSRS API lookup tool to check domain availability where
possible, but as far as I can see .asia isn't one of the TLDs available
via this tool. We therefore have to fall back to the WHOIS server
(whois.nic.asia), but as we've now discovered this isn't always reliable.

Any ideas how to reliably lookup .asia availability so that we can avoid
selling domains that can't actually be registered? Is there perhaps an
alternative WHOIS server that includes sunrise registrations, or could
.asia be added to the API lookup tool?
