Can you please elaborate on what criteria a domain needs to meet to get included in this group?

As I mentioned we'll be publishing an updated domain life cycle chart that will clarify the overall process for you. It IS a bit complicated but I want to stress that the odds of a name being sold at auction AND the registrant claiming the domain that long after it has expired is VERY slim.

Just so we know which of our client's domains are particularly "at risk".

If your client hasn't renewed BEFORE the domain expires I would consider the CLIENT to be at risk. Getting that renewal should be a key part of all our strategies to retain our customers.

I suggest we focus on getting the renewal BEFORE the domain expires and aggressively warning registrants during the 40 day grace period that they are about to lose their domain. While we can quite often help you get the domain back after that I think you need to give a clear message to your registrants that they can't depend on you to be able to get the name back if they've abandoned it.

Cheers,

Ken Schafer
