Holly, I am deeply sorry for what happened to your daughter and am praying that she recovers quickly. However, this can happen anywhere at anytime. It even happened when I was growing up, not in a similar situation, but near riots breaking out at concerts, which continued onto the subway stations on the way home. Young adults and teens think they are immortal and that nothing can or will ever happen to them. At least that's the way we thought. Hey, when i was a young adult we used to go to concerts that weren't in the city and on the drive home, we'd get on the highway doing about 80 mph, open the door and do "road checks". Now if that wasn't stupid and inane.....and to think i participated in this at the time and thought it was funny! Not even thinking of the consequences! True, kids have more today than we ever did, sometimes i think they have too much accessiblity and too much available to them. It's a different generation with different values, there isn't enough peace and love anymore, and this is something we all have to teach and instill in our children. Glad to hear you're doing your part. Well i'm glad this kid is taking responsibility for his own actions and hopefully he realizes what an idiotic thing he did.
