We got a CG in NC, too. I-85 between Lexington and Salisbury.

The "sleepy little town" IS just outside San Antone...about 10 miles 
east on US Hwy 87. I drove thru it in October on my 8,000 mile road 
trip. I took a picture of the sign, but from memory I believe it has a 
population of about 800.

I'm not sure if it's the one Tom Johnston sings about, but it's down 
around
Angleton, Tx.  Not really close to San Antone and it's a ranch, not a 
sleepy
little town.  When my brother and I were teenagers, we used to go, 
"whoah
-ho China Grove" whenever we passed it on our way to the beach.  I 
always
wondered if that was it.
