The Doobies have always been snubbed by the so-called "industry experts."
The only time they were not was back in '81 when they became multy Grammy
winners. A great statement because they were a street biker band that got
recognized during a time when that did not happen. With those credentials
you would think the "experts" would remember that.
For Unlawful Carnal Knowlede them!! (ala Van Halen)
Later,
Steve

Steve,
I agree over the VH-1 Top 100 - what an absolute "CROCK".
The fact that not one Doobies song made it is not a joke, it is a downright
insult.
Although "What A Fool Believes" is my favourite song, I acknowledge that
"Listen To The Music" should at least have been there, if only one Doobies
song was to have made it.
Number 1 was allegedly "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones, an average song
by (I believe) the most over-rated act in the history of popular music.
Sure, the Stones were a good band, but to me they were never, ever anything
really special.
At the end of the day, these "lists" are only ever someone else's opinion,
but this one seems to have some authority because it was supposed to be the
result of a survey of 700 music industry people.
I would be curious to know if any of the Doobies, or anyone associated with
them, were asked for their opinions for this list (of course, you would not
expect any artist to nominate one of their own songs, and certainly, the
Doobies would be far too modest for that !).
Anyway, I'll get my SATISFACTION from compiling my own Top 100 list, and I
reckon the Doobs will have about 20 entries on that......
Sorry for whining......!
Cheers,
Mark (Australia)
