Well, just like clockwork we're faced with another controversy! I've
been with the Doobie Brothers Fan Club since the start in '96. After
months of fun posts, great insights to the band and their history, the
latest news and the sharing of information and opinions, someone decides
to step in and put a damper on the whole thing. This is immediately
followed by angry posts and then the whole thing snowballs.
I think Gina's response was very eloquent! Way to go, Gina! I think her
post said it all. She first enthusiastically and appropriately told us
of her strong feelings for a band she grew up with and loves dearly,
only to be told to keep it to herself by SOMEONE new to the club.
So how does this PERSON feel now that they've publicly shut someone
down? Her wordless post entitled "sorry" was a nice touch. After what I,
and most likely many of the long time fans on this list, thought was an
entertaining post, she now writes back with "nothing".
I'd like to thank this new PERSON for making someone who is also new to
the club feel like she can't post her feelings. Not a very nice welcome.
I agree that there should NOT be tons of off topic and miscellaneous
posts like the virus warnings and political crap we've been subjected to
lately, but when it comes to someone expressing their feelings towards
this band, they are welcome to say whatever they want.
