Yes, the Doobies are featured in one of MAD's comic articles in the January
issue. Actually, one unidentified Doobie. The article is one that compared
the world of a smart, serious kid (the "good kid") and a maybe-not-so-smart,
yet extremely fun-loving kid (the "bad kid," of course). In one frame, one
of the kids (guess which?) is informed by his mother (with stars in eyes)
that he is a Doobie love child. The drawing is hysterical. It's a funny
article, if you remember that MAD is aimed at the male junior-high mentality
zone. But, hey, a popular reference is a popular reference, eh what?

Saw it; loved it! China Grove is THE party music in international
waters!

Speaking of public references to the Doobie Brothers, has anyone
checked out
the January issue of MAD magazine?

        Cheers,
Dave from Denver

I know you guys are way too intellectual to watch the Simpsons, so
you
missed Homer and Bart doing their rendition of China Grove. I'm still
LOL.
Later
