Title: RE: Steely Dan "LIVE" ?
Larry Carlton played on many Steely Dan tunes, his nickname was
Mr. 335 and he covered Minute By Minute on his album Discovery
which was an all acoustic album.
Michael Mcdonald actually played the keys on the track also .

I love 'em, too. Try this one:

What ace studio guitarist played the solo for Kid Charlamagne(sp?), what nickname was said guitarist known for, and what Doobie tune was covered by the guitarist.

Later,
Steve

My apologies for not making my presence known on this board of late, but
real time truly has its hooks in me, and since i was layed off in January, i
have been desperately looking for employment.  However, i couldn't resist
this post because i am an avid Steely Dan fan. i am totally addicted to
their jazz/rock/funk sound, not to mention Donald Fagen's nasaly/whiny
voice.  I just love him!

i  have every Steely Dan album every put out on vinyl including imports and
i also have them CD...including the remasters, and Walter Becker's 11 Tracks
of Whack as well as Donald Fagen's Night Fly and Kamikiriad.  I've seen them
twice in concert once with the NY Rock and Soul Revue back in 93 or 94 and
as Steely Dan in 95 or 96, i get my dates screwed up very easily, and if all
goes well i plan to see them this summer again.

They have recently completed a fantastic PBS special which was aired a few
weeks ago, which will repeated several times this year.  if you don't mind
the fundraising breaks during the concert, it's worth a watch. They also did
a VH1 Storytellers special which aired this past Monday for the first time
and i'm sure that will also be repeated.  And not sure if you guys know, but
i'm sure you all do....i just haven't been around that much.....Cornelius
Bumpus is playing with them on this tour.

And i know that they will be doing a Today Show concert this summer.

Can you tell that i absolutely LOVE Steely Dan!

Go ahead, ask me anything!!!

Maria
