Hi Doobiefans,

I want to share with you a plug I put in for the Doobie Brothers and
"Sibling Rivalry" at our local "hip" radio station. Feel free to modify the
message and send it on the the radio stations of your choice. Let's Doobify
the air waves!

*************************************

For those who think of the Doobie Brothers as one of those faded-dayglow,
dinosaur bands, relegated to playing the oldies circuit and appearing on the
stereo in reruns of That 70s Show, I invite you to take a listen to their
new CD - "Sibling Rivalry."

This is the band's first album of new music in 13 years, but that's a
misleading factoid. The real story is that the main members of the band
(Tom Johnston-guitars, Pat Simmons-guitars, John McFee-guitars and violin,
Big Mike Hossack-drums, and Keith Knudson-drums) have been touring heavily
for the past five years. They've added some very talented sidemen (Guy
Allison-keyboards, Marc Russo-saxophones, and Skylark-bass). All of this
touring has evolved the Brothers into a crackerjack unit that has a
intuitive feel for the individual and collective talents of the group.

These talents come to the forefront in "Sibling Rivalry." All of the band
members have contributed to the songwriting and playing. The result is an
album that is quite diverse in each song's style (there are elements of jazz
and c&w, as well as classic ballads and out-and-out rockers), but also
extremely unified in terms of its instrumental, vocal, and production
quality.

I would urge KBCO to consider adding the album's first single, "People Gotta
Love Again," to its playlist. PGLA is a bouncy, rockin' tune by Tom
Johnston that invokes the reaction of the world's major religious figures
(Jesus, Buddha, Allah, and of course the Devil) to today's crazy world. The
message - that we all need to drop our differences and disputes - is
admittedly timeworn, but it is also very topical considering the newest
Mideast crisis and the nasty political season ahead. I think that any of
KBCO's listeners with a global consciousness would love this world-class and
world-conscious song. It's a great fit for a station where the motto is
"World Class Rock."
