To all in Doobieland We have a classic rock station here in Saginaw, MI 104 FM /WYLZ AKA WHEELZ 104 The Doobies are part of the daily play list. Rockin Down The Highway, LTTM, Long Train, China Grove, Black Water, and TITTS get regular airplay. At this time they are not playing new material by classic rock bands, but are considering a weekly show to introduce new material or maybe a 2 for Tuesday format where they would play something old then something new back to back by the same artist. I know the program directors at both local rock stations and I believe one of them is going to start playing new material in some limited form in the near future, including SR. They know the new CD is out there. Wheelz 104 also carries the Bob and Tom show that recently had the Doobies broadcast. I missed that one. (heard about it too late) That will teach me to check my doobie mail before I leave the house every A.M. Thanks to all you out there in doobieland I have a tape of the Regis Live show. I stayed hom e that morning to tape it Oh yeah, the Harley part. WHEELZ 104 classic rock has a theme of classic cars and Bikes. Their promos include sound bytes from car and bike songs like Born To Be Wild and Rockin Down The Highway, etc. The station has produced a 2001 calendar that features Harleys and models from a local agency. The net proceeds from the sales of this calendar will benefit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to be built at Vets Park in Bay City, Michigan. Bay City is a watersports town on Saginaw Bay and is the place to be during the summer around here. A few years ago the traveling Vietnam Memorial visited Bay City and Saginaw. It inspired locals to build a permanent memorial.
