I've had a few requests to introduce myself to the
group due to my recent postings...
First of all, I was actually a member last year and
met a handful of you at the Doobies' show in STL. Due
to personal issues I dropped off the face of the earth
for awhile and am attempting a comeback now. My name
is Doug Dye (aka lonegator, aka "Double D")and I
currently live just outside of St. Louis in
Washington, MO. I was born and raised in Florida (but
I DO know how to vote) and grew up on southern rock.
My uncle was the first one to introduce the Doobies to
me in the mid-70's. He attended high school with
Michael McDonald (at McCleur High, I think).
Tragically, he committed suicide back in the early
80's after a long bout with depression. I asked for
and got all of his Doobies' paraphenalia which I keep
in a safe place to this day. Being only 31, I'm
probably one of the younger Doobie "#1 fans" but at
least I can say I know good music when I hear it!
