Hi fellow unsophisticates!

Just to let you know, Sibling Rivalry was reviewd in this month's "Q Music" magazine (which may be UK/Europe only - check www.qonline.co.uk) or www.q4music.com).

It got a "good" write-up (3 stars out of 5), which, considering the usual response from music critics, we can't really grumble at.

and a Happy (Scottish) New Year to you all!

Brian

The Doobie Brothers' zenith was in the late '70s, when fuzz-faced singer Michael McDonald, one of the great white soul voices, led the group into the rock mainstream with the hits Takin' It To The Streets and What A Fool Believes, the last also a high-water mark for co-writer Kenny "Footloose" Loggins. This first studio album in 10 years sees founder members Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons reviving the band's wholesome and uniquely Californian blend of rock, folk and soul to good effect. Minus McDonald, hits seem unlikely, but the old coots can still cut it, as evidenced by the sweet acoustic funk of People Gotta Love Again and the whispered Angels Of Madness.
