Hmm, that Snow White skit on Dinah reminds me of a TRUE Doobie fairy tale
and recollection. Sorry I have to keep recycling old material!
Once upon a time, it was 1981. There lived a princess (ahem...) named
Cinderella who went to the farewell Doobie concert at the Compaq Center
Castle and saw the pin-pinstriped, short-haired Doobies for what would be
the last time in the next 20 years. Shortly thereafter, she met the Evil
King (Her Ex-husband) who declared an proclamation that after they married
she would fall asleep from Rock-n-Roll, including her beloved Doobies,
FOREVER! (Insert thunder sound effect here.) She slept and slept, listening
to Amy Grant, Steve Green, the Statler Brothers and Strauss Waltzes for 10
years. The good fairy must have been watching over her though, for she sent
a Prince in 1995 to break the spell of the Evil King. The Prince kissed
her, they danced to a Excited at the ball, and he took her to her first
Doobie concert in 20 years at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas in 2000. The
spell was finally broken! Legend has it that sometime during that year,
Cinderella even received a phone call from the Master of Soothe himself,
Patrick Simmons. Only the Prince knows for sure. And so, they live Doobily
ever after, wide awake and ready for another rockin' year of concerts.
