Many of us know what an awesome venue Montalvo is. And they have treated us well the past two years. The Los Gatos Lodge is likewise a nice place, and also treats us well. And we could hear four shows! And we probably get to see Tiran.
But... You have to fly into the SanFran airport, which is a five ring Elbonian goat mating ritual, or fly into San Jose, which has fewer flights, and costs more.
LA - I hate LA... but the House Of Blues is a cool venue too. Nobody is going to bother you for standing up and dancing because there ain't no chairs to start with! Every airline on earth flies into LA a million times a day, and fairs can be pretty low. Oh yeah, and Skunk and the floamboyant Mr. Hartman are in LA.
If I had my way, I'd just turn it into a two week Doobie blowout, but I'll have to work a mess of comptime to go to either one. From what The Pres tells me, Montalvo is probably going to continue to be a yearly staple. That being said, it sure would be cool to meet Skunk, and John, so I guess I'll go for LA this year.
