Now I am from the Bay Area and I love the place. However, as Mark Twain said, "The
coldest winter I ever spent was summer in San Francisco." I went to Neil Young's
Bridge Benefit at Shoreline last year and it rained all night. The House of Blues is
indoors. No seats as Miles said, so no complaints. It is also pretty small, the last
time the Doobies played there I was leaning on the stage in front of Skylark and Pat
all night. It is very rare that people actually get shot "in" clubs. Sure we have
smog, you can't always see the sky. But who needs to see those stars, this is
Hollywood. We have stars walking around the street. At a Paul Simon show at the HOB I
had Richard Gere standing next to me. We also have other stuff to do when you are not
at a show or the convention. Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Universal Studios and even
try to get on a game show. My uncle lives in Los Gatos, it is a pretty dead town after
sundown. Traffic is no problem if you get a hotel near the club. I wo!
uld not wish LAX on my worst enemy, but you can fly into Burbank from most places.
Finally, if you add Agoura and Anaheim there will be five shows down here.
