Well I thought it about time I joined the local group now I live in

I am Ken, Founder of the Hampshire Group back in 1998. Using Linux in 1

Currently using Ubuntu 12.10. With 12.04 on a netbook and Mint on a
small desktop.
Looking forward to next meeting at The Broadway.
My first problem
I have an Asus K55A running Windows 8. I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit,
but the grub does not run the windows. When I select the windows boot
entry, I get the following error message
error: can't find command 'drivemap'.
error: invalid EFI filepath.
it then defaults back to the main grub menu and I can only boot the
Ubuntu option.
Google has not been my friend this time.
Any help appreciated.
Rgds Ken
While I can't answer your question, have you looked at trying Super Grub
Disk (www.supergrubdisk.org), it is a downloadable image that boots from
dvd\cd and can repair grub. I used to repair a grub boot problem I had a
while back although that was not a dual boot problem though.
Welcome to the lug by the way
