Make/model of the nas.

Normally this feature needs to be turned on for the share in question and
you may need to alter the nfs mount options to disable root-squash on the
mount point depending on what you want to do on the nas

Thought I should start a new thread for this.

I have a nice new shiny Nas (well off white really)

It has the option to use NFS as one of its connections option (I have also
chosen window file service for my windows client (XP, & and 8.1), but I
don't seem to be doing it right as I cant access the drive.

I do have web access but that is only admin purpose's though

I can gain access to the drive but it seems to be doing that via Samba
(built-in) but to do so I have had to list myself as a user on the nas.

Any pointer on how I can set this up would be appreciated

I am running SolydXK (Debian)

Well I have not been able to mount the NAS as a NFS yet, I have disabled root-squash

At the moment I am trying to mount from cli with.

mit@alorn:~$ sudo mount 192.168.0.68:/Data /mnt/nfs
mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting 192.168.0.68:/Data

(Data is the folder on the NAS I have shared)

I have added a user on the NAS with the same username and password my user on the PC

I have been following this page

http://www.debianhelp.co.uk/nfs.htm

and I have the nfs client installed

I have been able to configure the NAS so I can access it via window but for some reason I cant access the NAS via the SMB root on my linux box anymore, not sure what has changed there

Can anybody offer any suggestions

Regards

Tim
