I tried installing it (32 bit version) in VirtualBox. It installed OK
and runs, but none of the apps work (they all have "(error)" after the
name and want a system admin to fix them). Two separate attempts in
different virtual PCs with different Microsoft accounts, both the same
result.
Although it's pre-release I did expect the basics (like installing and
getting up and running) to work. Maybe it only works as an upgrade
install from 8.1 currently, though if that was the case it should say so.
I'll try again with a new ISO in a month or so.
Be aware that it has a lot of logging and monitoring etc (as part of
their debugging and quality checking) so don't do any real work with it,
if you do manage to get it to install.

I just downloaded it and tried it on my computer. On the old test box
it wouldn't go because it needs quite a powerful graphics card.
On my good computer I put in a test HD and it installed for 25 minutes
( Longer than a kubuntu installation?), and then crashed with a
missing files message.
so much for that.
