This is after a reboot and there is no process running that corresponds to the

Does anyone know how to fix this?  I assume there is a flag somewhere that has
not been reset.

I've reported this on Launchpad, but recent experience tells me not to hold my
breath.

In the meantime, I've installed Betterbird, which I tried out some time ago,
didn't really like, and went back to Thunderbird.  For the moment, at least it
works!

As you know I am also on Kubuntu 25.04 and using Thunderbird 140.4.0esr
(64-bit) with no problems. It shows in Synaptic as being installed. I try and
avoid Snaps as I don't like the extra directories clogging up my visible file
structure.
