When does Thunderbird normally ask the browser to open a URL?
Does it ever do this apart from when you explicitly click what's shown
as a link in Thunderbird's own display of an email?

When it was working, the only way to open a link in a browser was to click on it in the body of the email.  This also applies when the message contains a button that contains a link.  I know of mo other way to open a URL from Thunderbird.

If I disable the message pane, so I only get the list pane, I still get the erroneous page when I open the message.
