Sr. ETL/DataStage Developer (2 openings) This is a perm/direct or contract to hire position: In-depth hands on knowledge and understanding of Data stage Data Warehouse design, concepts and Methodologies. Extensive work experience in a GUI based ETL tool such as Ascential/IBM Web Sphere Data Stage 7.5.2 and 8.0. High level of ETL design experience, ability to assist lead in mentoring medium sized team of Data Stage ETL developer. Excellent interpersonal skills and clear communication skills required. Minimum Qualifications • Strong proven ability to work with GUI based ETL tools specifically IBM/Ascential Web Sphere Data Stage 7.5.2 and 8.0 • 4 plus years proven experience with designing and implementing experience with Data Stage. • Parallel ETL Architect Experience. • Experienced in complex ETL Job Development. • Must be creative with initiative to develop and deliver error free jobs • Full cycle development • Strong End to end experience on 2 or more enterprise data warehouse projects, preferably with a least one that included a substantial operational data store. • Strong proven technical ability to work successfully and manage multiple responsibilities. • Strong excellent analytical, problem-solving, team player and communication skills. • 2 years strong experience with Unix scripting in an AIX environment. • Technical feasibility analysis during project planning and design. • Experience with analysis of requirements and data sources in the overall design and implementation of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. • Experience analyzing source systems data structures and mapping the structures to target data warehouse schemas. Must have excellent skills in requirements analysis, data assessment, business process re-engineering, and familiarity with data warehousing design concepts such as third normal form and dimensional modeling. • Strong proven data sourcing and data transformation, data loading, SQL, end-user tools, database and SQL performance tuning. • Experienced using Parallel Extender. • Experienced in conversion from “Server” to “Parallel” jobs. • Must have experience with Oracle Enterprise (Parallel extender DB driver) • Must have extensive experience with performance tuning and optimization, from the application layer all the way down. • Knowledge of data set manipulation. • Knowledge and experience with Quality, Metastage is a plus. Principal Accountabilities 1. Able to take a large project (such as a server to parallel job conversion) from inception to fruition without supervision. 2. Must be fast learner and require very little ramp up time writing and converting quality data stage jobs. 3. Must invest time in learning or knowing how to sequence or job works before it breaks. 4. Work with outside companies to interface external data into the data warehouse. 5. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
