Will also have some distributed operations responsibilities associated with backups and off site vaulting, the role is a person working primarily on the data center raised floor. They're involved with **receiving new servers, racking, cabling, network patching, power distribution, Viso diagram rack plan maintenance, initial setups etc…** They're our first line interface with IM PMs migrating hardware in the Data Center. **MCSE and basic TCIP Network** knowledge preferred but not required. This applicant must be a self-starter and be ready to hit the ground running.* * **v **Specialized/Practical Knowledge: * * * - *Applicant must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following:* - *Basic **Windows 2000/2003** knowledge on stand alone machines, exposure to VMWare and UNIX platforms is a plus.* - *Understanding of **Data** Center** distribution systems, DG’s, batteries, UPS, PDU, racks.*** - *Understanding of **Data** Center** network cabling schemes, switches, patch panels, and racks.*** - *Understanding of off site tape vaulting processes. * - *Understanding of system back up processes, **TSM specific** knowledge a plus. * - *Should be able to resolve simple to complex server and hardware related **Data** Center** installation issues,** including problems with requiring redundant network and power connectivity. * - *Should be familiar with potential Data Center environmental issues and understand how to address them. * * **v ** **Management Skill: * * * - *While not directly managing others, this role will require the management of the enterprise data center facility in Manassas, VA* - *Support diverse infrastructure project teams under the direction of a Data Center Facilities **Lead and DCS Operations Manager**.
