Title: QA Functional Tester
Location: Mclean, VA
Duration: 9 Months (possible Extensions)

Skills: QA, UNIX/Linux OS, QTP, Oracle/DB2/SQL Server

Support *functional* and backend testing of a j2ee application with rules.

Develop and conduct a wide range of tests and analysis to ensure that
software, systems, and services meet minimum company standards and defined
end-user and system requirements.

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related
discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience from which
knowledge and skills may be obtained.

Four - Six years experience testing distributed web-based applications or
complex financial systems.

Skills: Senior (7+ yrs)

This position requires a solid team player who is an analytical thinker and
detail oriented. Candidates should display strong verbal and written
communication and a proactive demeanor. The abilities to prioritize tasks,
work on multiple assignments, and manage a dynamically changing workload are
important. The candidate should operate effectively in a rapidly changing
environment and embrace change

- UNIX
- SQL
- Working understanding of Oracle/DB2/SQL Server
- Working knowledge of software development life cycle
- Create test cases and test data using Rational/Mercury tools
- Execute test cases and provide metrics and updates to the test lead
- Accessing Web application Unix logs and accessing database via SQL to
validate test cases and troubleshoot system malfunctions.
- Create and update the RTM as required
- Document test results and coordinate with peers on testing activities
- Conduct a wide range of tests and analysis with full competency to ensure
that software, systems, and services meet minimum
- company standards and defined end-user (*functional*) and system (non-*
functional*) requirements.
