Client has over 100 servers which will be moved over the next 18 months and they need someone who can drive out all of the technical action plans to realize this. It includes understanding every service which exists on the servers in question, finding the owners, determining if the service is still viable, documenting the migration path (upgrade then migration or just straight migration), working with interested parties to develop timelines and planning the build of the new infrastructure to host it. This is a highly visible project. § Candidate will be required to develop a number of documents pertaining to the current state of legacy applications / servers § Candidate will be required to identify patterns which facilitate efficiency in the development of strategies for migration of Solaris systems to RHEL Skills & Experience Required:** § Experience leading the analysis and technical planning for a large migration from Solaris to RHEL § Experience migrating business applications § Experience developing technical documentation regarding applications and servers § Experience working on a large server migration (80 servers or more) of Solaris systems to RHEL § Candidate must be able to work with minimal direction, understands the deliverables and is able to effectively partner with members of other teams to achieve goals § Must be technically astute beyond just the hardware and OS, must be familiar with software applications and be able to identify where upgrades are needed as opposed to straight migrations § Must be a good planner, able to think longer term and identify potential issues and drive analysis to mitigate impacts** Let me know if you need any further information in this regards -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Dot Net Discussions" group.
