Position:  Software Quality Assurance/Tester

Type:   Contract-to-Hire

Opportunity:  Due to new business activity, this growing start-up
seeks a Software Quality Assurance Analyst/Tester who is passionate
about delivering software that customers love to use.  This is a great
opportunity to work within arm's length of the principals, an
environment where your contribution has an impact.

Job Description:

As a key contributor to the software quality assurance & test for the
organization, you will collaborate closely with a talented team of
analysts, software developers and users/clients to understand software
requirements.  Will perform software quality assurance and test in an
Agile development environment, for a variety of business applications
in diverse software environments.

Specific Tasks:

· Assessing software test and quality assurance needs
· Creating and implementing software test plans and strategy
· Defect reporting and tracking and issue resolution
· Write and execute test cases, log and track defects
· Work closely with the development and management team throughout the
application development life cycle to ensure software meets user and
quality requirements.
· Recommendations changes in development/code practice
· Document test plans, test results, test processes
· Review software specification documents

Qualifications:

· BS in Computer Science, or related, or equivalent, plus 3+ years
experience performing software quality assurance and test
· 2+ years troubleshooting and testing ASP.Net applications
· Experience testing web-based applications and GUIs (SilverLight
preferred)
· Creative problem solving skills and a passion for quality
· Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and writing/documentation
skills
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem resolution skills
· Programming experience is beneficial, but not required
· Experience with Oracle and/or or SQL-Server database back-ends is
helpful
· Unix and/or Windows, C#, SilverLight, Visual Studio, Web Scripting
languages
· Effective in collaborating with team and users
· Must have a strong customer service orientation.
· Successful candidate will be self-assured, assertive, and capable of
learning a wide variety technologies and applications quickly.
· Work experience in a professional services (client facing) function
preferred

Notes:
· These opportunities are available on a contract-to-hire (W-2) basis.
· US citizenship or US permanent residence required
