Technical Lead Informatica in Washington, DC! is looking for a Data warehouse lead to for a contract role in Washington, DC! The contract is initially through 8/31/2015 with a likely extension! Most important for manager: The top competencies for the tech lead position are: strong data modeling skills, experience with BI reporting tools, ETL and data visualization concepts and hands-on exposure, proactive and can work across boundaries, experience in Banking & Finance domain. RESPONSIBILITIES · Responsible for the design of all the layers of the data warehousing solution for Financial instruments analytics and reporting, which include but not limited to, Data consolidation, Transformation/Conversions, Services, Analytics and Reporting · Accountable for the quality of the design and cohesion across the various systems/components of the design. The solution involves multitude of systems that play a role in the solution · Coordinate the data rationalization activity across business and IT teams · Responsible for the specification of the solution design that can be consumed by development teams and potentially external vendors to develop implementation plans · Ensure optimal use of technology through a scalable design of the solution; Escalate any architectural issues with the relevant teams and bring them to closure · Interpreting business requirements, formulating business metrics for reporting, articulate requirements in technical terms and facilitate transforming such business requirements into technical solution patterns following standard Data Warehousing principles and standard practices. · Oversee the design of different components of proposed Data warehouse platform components. · Assist the Project Manager in developing detailed tasks, sequences, and schedules, including resource requirements · Report to the Project Manager the status of the design activities and issues · Must be able present diagnostic, troubleshooting steps and conclusions to a varied audience. · Coordinate efforts around defining overall data warehouse architecture (e.g., ETL process, ODS, EDW, Data Marts) · Define technical requirements, technical and data architectures for the data warehouse. · Adhere to enterprise standard toolset and recommend implementation pattern for select data warehouse technologies (e.g., ETL, DBMS, Data Quality, BI, Data Virtualization). · Direct and own data profiling, data discovery and data mapping exercise. · Design and direct the ETL process, including data quality and testing. · Design and direct the information access and delivery effort for the data warehouse. · Define and direct the implementation of security requirements for the data warehouse. · Define meta data standards for the data warehouse. · Direct the data warehouse meta data capture and access effort. · Define production release requirements and sustainment architecture.
