I like this link Robert. http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/02/05/Crystal/Crystal.asp
I would heartily recommend divorcing reports from datasources. Use an ADO.NET DataSet passed to the report - the report can be designed based on an XML schema or xsd file although you do not need the strong typed one to be involved at runtime. But then I may be wanting a bit too much control myself than is good for me :-) Seriously this version of CR is now usable I think - significant improvements made from the VB6 version. And I sort of recall having to do something to the report design to make it work, but I don't recall the details. Go to the CrystalDecisions web site and search their knowledge base. For that matter of fact, how do I change the connection info at all? My development environment uses a different SQL server than the live environment.
