I'd add "reduced development time" to this list. Once over the hump of understanding .NET (and it's not a small hump) it is said that typical business projects can be developed with 20%-50% less effort, depending on the requirements, compared to developing the same requirements in ASP. We don't have enough experience yet to corroborate this, but there's no doubt that lots of common requirements that required dozens or hundreds of lines of code in ASP can be developed with a few lines in .NET. I think the savings will be there as our group gains experience.

The easy integration, through web services, server side compilation, and the fact microsofts marketing engine is behind it, so chances are most contract offers with microsoft favourability will be for dot net rather then traditional asp. There's also the benefit of essential the same development process for application level stuff rather then web service level. ----- Original Message ----- From: "rashid ached" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "dotnet" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2003 3:19 PM Subject: enquiry > hello > > I just wanna to know what the advantages of using ASP.net and VB.net > compared to traditional ASP... > > regards, > Harry Skywalker > > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* > http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail > > > --- > You are currently subscribed to dotnet as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To > unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% > > --------- > Administrated by 15 Seconds : http://www.15Seconds.com > List Archives/Search : http://local.15Seconds.com/search Subscription > Information : http://www.15seconds.com/listserv.htm > Advertising Information: http://www.internet.com/mediakit/ > > > --- You are currently subscribed to dotnet as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% --------- Administrated by 15 Seconds : http://www.15Seconds.com List Archives/Search : http://local.15Seconds.com/search Subscription Information : http://www.15seconds.com/listserv.htm Advertising Information: http://www.internet.com/mediakit/ --- You are currently subscribed to dotnet as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------- Administrated by 15 Seconds : http://www.15Seconds.com List Archives/Search : http://local.15Seconds.com/search Subscription Information : http://www.15seconds.com/listserv.htm Advertising Information: http://www.internet.com/mediakit/
