I'd add "reduced development time" to this list.  Once over the hump of
understanding .NET (and it's not a small hump) it is said that typical
business projects can be developed with 20%-50% less effort, depending on
the requirements, compared to developing the same requirements in ASP.  We
don't have enough experience yet to corroborate this, but there's no doubt
that lots of common requirements that required dozens or hundreds of lines
of code in ASP can be developed with a few lines in .NET.  I think the
savings will be there as our group gains experience.

Rashid - Apart from the simple preferences of the far nicer interface behind
visual studio, and C# / VB rather then vbscript/jscript. The easy
integration, through web services, server side compilation, and the fact
microsofts marketing engine is behind it, so chances are most contract
offers with microsoft favourability will be for dot net rather then
traditional asp.

There's also the benefit of essential the same development process for
application level stuff rather then web service level.
