Hi Everyone, I'm about to start working towards my MCITP: Database Administrator certification, which involves taking the following three tests: Exam 70-431 - TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 – Implementation and Maintenance Exam 70-443 - PRO: Designing a Database Server Infrastructure by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Exam 70-444 - PRO: Optimizing and Maintaining a Database Administration Solution by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005
This is my first time to work towards a Microsoft certification, so that part is new ... but i've been using SQL Server since SQL 7.0. For anyone who's gone through these exams or similar, would you suggest getting the Self-Paced training books from Microsoft? I don't have the time or money to take any in-person classes, but I can work through the books in my spare time. Also once I get my MCITP:DA cert, any word on what'll be involved to upgrade it to SQL 2008 when those tests are available? We're still on SQL 2005 but plan on moving to 2008 soon. I figured we'll be using 2005 for the unforeseeable future, so that's where I'd like to start instead of waiting for the 2008 exams.
