Hi:

We have some components written using .Net framework 1.1 for our
software product. These are mainly either Windows services or a bunch
of COM dlls. We are currently in the process of analyzing amount of
effort involved in migrating these components to framework ver 3.5.

Since I have learnt from Microsoft's website that Windows Server 2008
currently supports .framework 1.1 (sp1). What I'm trying to find out
is if it's worth considering conversion of components in framework 1.1
to 3.5.

The components/services are written using Visual C++ (.net dev env
2003).

Please advice as how smooth this migration process would be. Is it
doable or is there a major effort involved in conversion and if there
is a lot of manual intervention required?

Does anyone have any prior experience with this conversion process?
Please share your thoughts.

Any help would be appreciated!
