Your VBA experience will make it easier for you to transition to
VB.NET as a programming language. On the other hand, your Java
experience will help the transition to C#. Both languages are really
equal in terms of capabilities and MS tries to keep evolving them at
similar pace with each new version.

It is the transition to the OOP mindset that is the real hurdle, IMHO.
