More details are needed to help...
* how are you loading the XML files - concatenation of all 6 into 1 huge 
string?  If so, back it up and at the very minumum, create seperate documents 
(6 of them) and learn how to concatenate those documents into 1 - assuming that 
there is no duplication of root nodes.

start there - I image your largest issue is conformance to a standard when 
creating / reading the complied xml doc.
