You can't run the webbrowser control in a thread for the simple reason that 
it's already asynchronous. Run this sub if you don't believe me.

        For n = 1 To 20000000
            Label1.Text = n.ToString
            If n = 1345 Then
                WebBrowser1.Navigate("http://www.vbforums.com/";)

If the thread is being held up it is not by the webbrowser navigating to or 
displaying a new website.
