Hello there! I'm pleased to inform you that our next release should be published by the end of the month. Its numbering will be 2011-05 but it will also have our first release name: DoudouLinux Gondwana. The reason is that this is the first official stable release of DoudouLinux (although you may have noticed that previous versions were not particularly buggy :) ). We will support it until our next stable release is out. It will also be the latest release based on Debian Lenny, we will move to Debian Squeeze for the release after.
This new release will provide many improvements, among those: * new applications Songwrite (easy to use song editor/player) and Stopmotion (animation movies from series of photos) * several MIDI files to listen to music * graphical and musical boot and shutdown * the first audio messages (at CD shutdown and for low batteries) * an enhanced menu of activities This release will be available in 16 official languages: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, Greek, Italian, Persian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish and Ukrainian. We will also provide demonstration languages for which no translation work has started. You can already start to test dailybuilds in several languages, which are very close to next release: http://download.doudoulinux.org/dailybuild/ Of course if you are interested in helping us providing better translations or new languages, you're welcome. If you want to take part to any other activity of our project you're welcome too (graphic design, drawing, music, writing, coding, system admin, etc.). Our main activities for the coming months will be centered on moving to Squeeze, drawing and porting to ARM processors. Hope you'll all enjoy our work :)!
