Uh, how do I enable them?
ulimit -c unlimited before starting Dovecot. If that doesn't work, it
means you're using a startup script that disables them.
It could also mean:
1. The kernel has some parameter set that is akin to BSD's kern.coredump and
forbids core dumps.
2. Some sort of enhanced security layer like SELinux or AppArmor is active
and is configured to disable core dumps.
