Does v2.0 or some earlier Dovecot version work with it? I don't think I've done any changes to kqueue handling for a long long time, other than make it enabled by default in v1.1. Although maybe it's related to having FIFOs nowadays.. Anyway, try if it works with: configure --with-ioloop=select
