If you're talking about errors like these: Mar 10 18:21:38 imap(tss): Error: Log synchronization error at seq=1,offset=26896 for /home/tss/mail/.imap/INBOX/dovecot.index: Extension header update points outside header size and the following fsck error, then deleting all of the .imap directories should get rid of them (maybe you didn't delete all of them? note that each subdirectory has its own, so there's more than just ~/mail/.imap/).
