Just wanted to add myself to the list of impacted. Using updated Alma Linux 8 with Dovecot 2.3.16.
I do note that disabling imap idle is mentioned as a potentially helpful workaround however presumably that would stop 'push' style updating for all other users so its not really suitable in my case. Advanced user, large quantity of users.
