Per the maildir standard, *any* flag other than \Recent automatically moves you from new/ to cur/. Thus this new flag for attachment status breaks the old flow. Sure, IMAP or whatever can cover for this by specifically keying on the \Seen flag to convey read status (which it *does* do), but there's still plenty of scripts/customers out there that rely on the old maildir behavior to implement their own filtering or whatever. This breaks those people's long standing assumptions, thus you get angry customers sending support tickets demanding to fix this :)
