Hi,
I have used Dovecot for about seven years, and I have a two server
configuration with replication between them, mostly for redundancy and backup.
I have by chance read that replication is gone with 2.4.0. I use the packages
that come with ubuntu, so I feel I have to be careful with upgrading there.
I read also that I can keep the functionality by using a replication plugin.
If you are talking about my wormhole plugin, you can find it here:
https://codeberg.org/errror/wormhole
My question is: do I need to compile dovecot myself to use the plugin, or can I
simply install it ?
Since ~2 weeks, I provide packages for Debian and Ubuntu built against the CE
packages of Dovecot. Currently I do not intend to also provide packages built against
the distribution packages of Dovecot, but you can build these packages rather easy on
your own. See the documentation in the repository.
Is there any guide for people like me who needs to keep replication?
Yes, there is an upgrading howto in the repository's documentation.
Best regards,
