Jan, I'd rather not have a dual boot system as some campuses like Broome Community College consider running Linux as a security breach unless it is part of a class or a club. Unfortunately, none of the courses in my chosen associate degree involve Linux.
Sometime in the future, I will get a second laptop and install Linux. It would allow you to have Linux box on Windows box. Modern laptops should be fast enough to have the virtual box running at usable speed.
