I am new to Dave's so it was the last version that I upgraded from (3.14 to 3.15?). Sorry I didn't write the error messages down but after rebooting I received an error message that said something to the effect of "unable to instantiate dave's quick search toolbar" followed by a second message "dll file missing." A subsequent attempt to "Add Quick Search" from the right click toolbar menu resulted in the same messages, so I reverted my hard drive to stick with the old version.
